Growth is in the Numbers:

Okay, so Rich and Bennett host the World's Largest Pub Crawl every St. Patrick's Day (actually the crawl always happens on the Saturday prior to St. Pat's, unless St. Pat's is on a Saturday...the perfect storm!!).  You might be asking yourself a few questions.  I have heard them all before and I get them all the time: 1) Is it really the largest pub crawl in the world? YES 2) How many people went last year? 8,987 crawlers in 2011 and 3) How did it get that big? steady growth year after year.

There is no doubt that people have a good time on the crawl.  We have the pictures, videos and classic stories to prove it, but that's information for later posts.  Today I want to show you how the crawl has grown and challenge you to do a few things before St. Patrick's Day rolls around again.

  1. I will commit to drinking regularly and attending next year. You guys need to find a way to market to people who are new to Charlotte. It's a great opportunity for newbies to learn the lay of the land (at least the nightlife) and meet people. how can you tap into that audience?

  2. Your idea of having stations where people can become a part of history is a great idea. Start using QR codes now at each bar and vendor that is going to participate. This will allow all of the "newbies" a chance to learn about the WLPC throughout the year. Have cheap business cards made up with just the QR code and let human curiosity take over. People will naturally scan the code just to see what it's about and BOOM you have more marketing.
