The Worlds Largest Pub Crawl has very humble beginnings. Just prior to St. Patricks Day in the winter of 2001 two roommates, Rich and Bennett, decided to throw a little party for their friends. They had recently experienced a pub crawl in the city of Boston and thought the format would be well received by the folks in Charlotte and several of their visiting college friends. The goal was to fill up a bus with 40 people and have a blast. After a few weeks of careful planning, March 17th, 2001 arrived and so did close to 80 people. The bus was packed like a sardine can and the beer was flowing. The only requirements of the day were to follow the "rules" on the t-shirt and have a good time. The "rules"....7 bars, 7 hours and 1 mission. The mission was to have so much fun that it hurt!!!
Since 2001 the pub crawl has happened every St. Patricks Day and has operated as the
Worlds Largest Pub Crawl for the last 4 year. Each year the group of crawlers grow and Rich and Bennett work to enhance the event with new bars, new specials, new give aways, an awesome koozie and a commemorative t-shirt.
Mark your calendars for

What an awesome idea! This is a win-win for me also. I can tell my wife that I HAVE to attend under the pretense of education. I can't wait to see how this class helps transend the bar crawl into a top trend on twitter.
ReplyDeleteFinally, I can merge my personal thirty-year personal pub crawl with a formalized group and in the name of science and education. The bad news, I can't remember most of it.
ReplyDeleteJames- In the name of whatever you want!! As long as there is beer!!!
